Concept: 31 Days of Powerful, Effective, Prayer.
Seeking God’s directives for the year 2018.
Template: Matthew 18:19-20 “...if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
Agree, Strong’s #4856 from the Greek Sumphoneo.
Sum, “together” and phoneo, to sound. Sumphoneo is to sound together, be in accord, to be in harmony. The word “symphony” comes from Sumphoneo. Metaphorically, the word means to agree together in prayer that is concordant.
The idea is that members of the Church might use the first week of 2018 forming prayer partners groups of 2 to 4. Men with men or women with women. The goal for each group will be to come
1. To read the weekly scripture
2. To agree in prayer for the salvation of particular friends and
3. To agree in prayer with all groups concerning the direction
and ministry of His children for this new year.

WEEK 2 - January 7th
Scripture Assignment: Proverbs 6:20-23
Theme: Home and Family
God has given fathers and mothers the responsibility of molding a child’s ways thru the bonds of knitting their hearts and emotions to their own. Public schools and social media will not accomplish this, in fact most often will do the opposite. Faithful parenting is what a child needs most, without which, God’s gracious intervention is still there and able when no one else is.
This week pray for another family as well as your own:
1. Pray for marriages
2. Pray for the single parent
3. Pray for the children
4. Pray for financial blessings
5. Pray for a families health
6. Pray for reconciliation and peace
WEEK 3 - January 14th
Scripture Assignment: Acts 2:17-18,21
Theme: Spiritual awakening in the church
As the church goes so goes the next generation. Jesus declared
“I will build my church and the gates of hades will not prevail against it.” (Matthew 16:18)
The church was birthed in the worshiping, ministering power of the Holy Spirit to launch the spread of the gospel all over the world. Today as we approach the maturity of the New Testament church age, another Holy Spirit outpouring is to be sought for the work to be completed.
1. Holiness in the Church
1st Thessalonians 3:11-13
God does not just call us to abstain from sexual immorality but
has called us to the active power of holiness which is the
emphasis of His Holy Spirit.
Paul told the Thessalonians that to reject Holiness (as if it were
something outdated to be ignored) is the same as rejecting God.
The world would have you believe that if you don’t prefer mans
pleasure over Gods you are then a hater of man.
This fails to take into account it was not man but God who gave
us life. It was not man but God who remained sinless so as to lay
down the purity of that life for our cleansing and liberty from the
bondage of sins contamination.
WEEK 3 - Continued
His love and ways are far superior to human ways and reason. It is
God therefore we should seek to know and please.
2. Pray for the spirit of servanthood in the Church
Very few will last very long without discovering the satisfaction
and fulfillment in servanthood. If Christ Himself modeled
servanthood as the identifying mark of Godly leadership surely we
can follow His example.
3. Pray for commitment
A congregation full of church hoppers, chasing after the next
sensational trend in church going will never take root in the
deeper life of the Christian experience. Let us be established in
the word and fellowship.

WEEK 5 - January 28th
Scripture Assignment: Revelation 22:20
“ . . . Surely I am coming quickly”
Amen, even so, come Lord Jesus.
1st John 3:2, 3
The expectation of our Lords’ return motivates our hearts to readiness. His coming again to receive us to Himself is mankind's blessed hope.
1. Pray for a refining fire in the last days. That it may purify our hearts as witnesses.
2. Pray for the revelation of Christ that we may long for
3. Pray for an end time harvest of souls.
